At Genesis we’re more into people than we are religious rules and traditions. We believe that Jesus came FOR people and that the church should reflect His heart and love for people. At Genesis, we’re more concerned about where you are, and where you’re going than where you’ve been. We believe God is very interested in every area of your life and that He wants the best in your marriage, family, finances and relationships. Whether you consider yourself to be a church person or not, we invite you to come experience Genesis for yourself.

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are One God. (Genesis1: 1, 26, 27; 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, 1 Peter 1:2, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
The Bible is God’s Word to all men. The Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit; it is inspired, infallible and inerrant (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26).
Man is made in the image of God. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although God designed man to have fellowship with him, man became alienated from God through disobedience. As a result, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and choose to sin against God. Man is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own efforts. (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-6, Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:23, Colossians 1:21, Isaiah 59:1-2)
Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory (John 1:1,14, 20:28; 1Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; 1Timothy 2:5).
Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God, through forgiveness and salvation. When you die, you will either spend eternity in Heaven or Hell. Eternal separation from God happens in Hell. Eternal union with God happens in Heaven. (John 3:16, 1 John 2:25; 5:11-13, Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:15)
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. We are saved by grace through faith, his death, burial and resurrection.
THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of Biblical parameters (Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12:4-8; Ephesians 4:16; 2 Timothy 1:5-16, 4:14; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; 1 Peter 4:10).
The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23).
HEALING OF THE SICK
Healing of the sick is illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus, and included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign of which is to follow believers. It is also a part of Jesus’ work on the Cross and one of the gifts of the Spirit (Psalm 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:17-18; Acts 8:6-7; James 5:14-16; 1 Corinthians 12:9, 28; Romans 11:29).
Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures (Matthew 24:30, 26:63-64; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8; Revelation 1:7).
At Genesis, PEOPLE MATTER MOST. We believe God loves ALL people and offers salvation to EVERYONE. Therefore it is our desire to:
Lead people from where they are to where God wants them to be.
Our goal for every person in our city is:
Experience life through a relationship with Jesus Christ
Live in freedom through the power of Christ
Develop life giving relationships with others
Give life by serving others
We work to achieve that goal through our 5 CORE VALUES:
Found People Find People...
Once we have experienced God’s radical, unconditional love we are compelled to share it with others.
You Can’t Do Life Alone…
God designed us to live in relationship with others. An essential element of a vibrant faith is life giving relationships with other believers.
5 CORE VALUES
Saved People Serve People...
We are saved because Jesus served us and sacrificed for us. Because we have experienced His love, we pay that forward by serving other people.
You Can’t Out Give God...
We have life because of the incredible generosity of God who gave his son Jesus for us. Because God is generous, he desires for us to be generous. God wants to bless us so that we can be a blessing to others.
Growing People Change…
Healthy things grow and growing things change. Once we become whole through new life in Christ we will grow spiritually and that will produce change.
